Fire Damage – St. Petersburg Garage
Fire damage at this St. Petersburg garage charred the flat ceiling. The fire was extinguished quickly, and the damage was generally limited to the supports and beams. SERVPRO of NE St. Petersburg would use a process called ice blasting to clean the smoke damage from the charred wood. In this process pressurized dry ice pellets rasp the charred wood surface until the bare and clean wood is exposed. The process is very clean as the ice pellets are vaporized into the air. No water is used and with the ice pellets vaporizing there is no water to clean up. Air scrubbers would be set up to remove any loose particles from the air and treat any odor from the fire. Clients are very pleased with this process as it is less costly than replacing all the building materials.
